Horse & Carriage Weddings Are Back!

Return of the show stoppers!

They’re back!

Every bride wants one, every photographer loves the photographic opportunities they present in abundance.

Yes, the horse and carriage are back.

This past weekend saw both Saturday and Sunday’s wedding’s with horse and carriages taking centre stage with my wedding couples.

While Saturday’s horses were black strong and ready to cope with the bustle of St Mary’s marketplace position in Ilkeston town Sundays white horses were young and their colour added to the dramatic backdrop at Tutbury.

Even the lady vicar stepped up onto the footwell of the carriage onto its approach to Tutbury church and rode in style down the church path!

To have one or not to have one is the question?

Consider the images and all their possibilities which as an admirer of horses since I was young and entered the win a pony’ competition by WH Smiths many years ago to no avail just as well really as after I had popped the entry into the post box it was followed by my fathers comments of “ where on earth do you think you could keep it if you won?”

Horses particularly younger ones are not fans of blowing veils and party popper style confetti or any other object or sharp movement and don’t forget the wedding present they leave behind on the pavement.

But all in all my vote would definitely be yes as the images are beautiful and from someone who loves fairytales I am sure every lady wants to have just married her prince and be whisked off in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage to a lavish party in a beautiful dress!
